Senator Bob Carr, Australia's Foreign Minister: Condemn Burma's attacks on civilians

Petition by Burma Campaign Australia For the past 18 months people in Kachin State, northern Burma, have been fleeing military attacks and human rights abuses. On December 28th 2012 the Burmese military started using fighter jets and airstrikes in their attacks in Kachin State. Since the Burmese military started using airstrikes over 300 people have been reported dead. Since the military attacks began 18 months ago, over 100,000 men, women and children have been forced to flee their homes. Most are living in make-shift camps with inadequate food, water and access to health care. The United Nations, the United States of America and the United Kingdom have expressed concerns over these attacks. However Australia has been silent. More+++click
