A Free Burma Rangers Report
Kachin State
June, 2013
In 2011, a 17-year ceasefire between the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and the Burma Army crumbled.
The fighting has displaced nearly 100,000 people in Kachin State, and many have fled to IDP camps for safety.
The Kachin are trying to give their people a better life.
They are among the millions of ethnic people in Burma who lack basic human rights. They need our support as they negotiate for freedom, reconciliation, and peace with the government of Burma.
