82 years ago: The Sawbwa and Mahadevi of Hsipaw arriving at St James Palace for the Burma Round Table Conference. The Conference which ended in January 1932 agreed to the separation of Burma from India. U Ba Pe and U Chit Hlaing were amongst the Burmese delegates. The Sawbwa of Hsipaw, Sao Ohn Kya, was the chief representative of the Shan rulers.

Saisky Owner Oxford educated Hsipaw Sawbwa Sao Ohn Kya and His Mahadevi Sao Nang SuNanda.He had designed and built an English-style Haw(Palace) after his years in England.He was a cousin of the last Sawbwa of Hsipaw,Sao Kya Hseng who was educated in US and had married an Austrian lady.
